Curious, she asked for some to be brought to her. The queen then liked this bread so much that she summoned Chef Raffaele Esposito to the royal palace and asked him to bake it in the royal kitchen oven, for her simple pleasure. To honor his queen, Raffaele decided to create a special bread, just for her. He baked his dough in the oven and topped it with tomatoes, Mozzarella, and fresh basil (the colors of the Italian flag: red, white, and green). The pizza was born. This recipe became the Queen's favorite dish, and subsequently, the most popular dish in the country.
