What is Hanbang Mojoo (母酒)? It is made by boiling makgeolli with various medicinal herbs. Its true flavor is best enjoyed when served warm, and historically, it was considered the best hangover remedy after drinking. Origin of Mojoo: It is said to have been originally called 'Daebi Mojoo' (大妃母酒), meaning 'Queen Mother's Wine', because it was brewed by Madam Noh, the mother of Queen Inmok, during the reign of King Gwanghaegun of the Joseon Dynasty, while she was in exile in Jeju. Later, it came to be called 'Mojoo'.
