Grapao Khun Chang Bang Kruai
In my childhood, my mother would often make stir-fried kaprao for me. My mother's kaprao had a unique, authentic taste – traditionally stir-fried, dry, intensely flavored, fragrant with dried chili, and a spicy roasted finish, making it exceptionally delicious, fragrant with basil and aromatics. As I grew older, I became a kaprao enthusiast. I would try kaprao at any restaurant that claimed to be good, but none tasted like the traditional recipe my mother used to make. So, I decided to make my own stir-fried kaprao, slightly adjusting my mother's recipe. Over time, my family became addicted, and friends started to like it too, encouraging me to sell it. Just six months later, I decided to open my first storefront in the Rama 2 area, which quickly gained many regular customers. This is the origin story... Kaprao KhunChang. Why the name Kaprao KhunChang? Our kaprao is made with the traditional, authentic recipe. Therefore, we wanted a name with a Thai essence. I thought of elephants and Khun Chang from Thai literature. Khun Chang himself was known for his loyalty and sincerity, which are the values our restaurant aims to offer our customers.
