Your first restaurant abroad. A menu full of unreadable characters. The translation app turns "chicken" into "poultry." You end up pointing at what the next table is having. "I'll have that too."
The Problem
Translation apps weren't enough
Google Translate turns "sashimi" into "raw fish slices." Technically correct. But you still don't know if it's tuna, salmon, or flounder. The context of a menu doesn't survive a simple translation.
Our Approach
Order like a local
menufans doesn't translate menus. We keep the original text and add descriptions you can understand. That "マグロ" is tuna. That "中トロ" is medium fatty tuna belly. The context locals already know.
The Result
A menu you can point to with confidence
Now you can show your phone to the waiter and say "This one, please." No awkward gestures. No anxious guessing. Pointing at the menu in the local language, knowing exactly what you're ordering.
How It Works
1
Find a restaurant
Search nearby restaurants on the map, or browse popular spots by city.
2
Preview the menu
See what each dish is, what ingredients it contains.
3
Show to staff
Add items to your cart and show the order summary in the local language to the waiter.
Try it on your next trip
You don't have to freeze in front of menus anymore.
