WHAT IS MONJAYAKI? Monjayaki is a type of Japanese savory pancake, similar to okonomiyaki, but gooey and moist and soft but crispy on the side with a much runnier batter. It's popular local food in Tokyo. It's made with our significant flavorful dashi(soup stock) and mixed with ingredients like finely chopped cabbage, crispy tempura flakes, dried squid, shrimp etc. At DOTEPPAN, we cook each monja right in front of you on a hot iron plate, ensuring perfect crispiness, umami, and texture. WHAT IS OKONOMIYAKI? Okonomiyaki is a type of Japanese savory pancake made with a flour-based batter, chopped cabbage, egg, and a variety of ingredients, then grilled on a hot iron plate.
